For centuries, the Jewish cemetery of Thessaloniki was located in today\u2019s area of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where approximately 350,000 graves stretched.\n\nDuring the German occupation, the cemetery was systematically destroyed by the German occupation forces. The tombstones were removed and used as building materials, both for public works and private construction.
